1. Download Review Lab only from the official ParaScope Download page.
2. Open the installer and confirm Windows identifies the publisher as Trevor Palmer.
3. Open Review Lab. To evaluate it first, open Project, choose License & Activation, and select Start 7-Day Trial. No payment card is required.
4. After purchase, copy the full license key from the email sent by ParaScope Review Lab.
5. Open Project, choose License & Activation, paste the key, and select Activate This Computer.
6. Keep the key private. A purchased personal license can be activated on up to two personal computers.

Important: Removing the local activation does not delete your projects, exports, or original recordings.

1. Choose New Review at the top of Review Lab.
2. Enter the location, investigators, investigation date and time, conditions, and any starting notes you want included in the record.
3. Save the setup. These details can be updated later from Summary or Case.
4. Leave Reviewer blank when the setup will be shared. Each reviewer should enter their own name after importing the case snapshot.
5. Open the recording assigned to this review and save the project with a clear camera, room, or recorder name.

Important: Several reviewers can work under the same investigation while reviewing different cameras or recorders.

1. For a normal audio or video file, choose Open Media and select the file. You can also drag the file into the empty media area.
2. For an exported ParaScope Investigator package, choose Open Phone Package and select the package.
3. For an authorized Android phone connected by USB, choose Import Connected Phone and select the available phone session.
4. Wait for the media name and duration to appear before starting review.
5. Save the Review Lab project. The project stores review work and references the source; it does not replace or move the original recording.

Important: If the preferred recorder audio is already embedded in a camera MP4, open that MP4 normally. A separate FTP Audio folder does not have to be downloaded for ordinary review.

1. Open Project and choose Save Project after meaningful review work.
2. Use Save As when you need a separate project copy without overwriting the current project file.
3. Use Recent Projects to reopen a saved review, or Open Other Project when it is not listed.
4. Open Project, then Exports, to open the last export, open the export folder, or choose a different export folder.
5. Keep the project file with its investigation records. Keep original recordings in their existing evidence location.

Important: A Review Lab project is the authoritative review record; the private database is only a searchable index.

1. Use -10 sec, -5 sec, Play or Pause, +5 sec, and +10 sec to move through the recording.
2. For video, choose Full Screen to enlarge the review area. The playback controls, Mark Hit, and the minimize control remain available at the bottom.
3. For frame-by-frame review, choose the correct FPS value, then use Previous Frame or Next Frame.
4. To repeat a moment, play to the beginning and choose Set Start. Move to the end and choose Set End.
5. Choose Loop Off to turn looping on. You can also type exact start and end times and choose Apply Times.
6. Choose Clear when you are finished with the loop.

Important: Playback position, frame stepping, and loops never cut or change the source recording.

1. Open media, then expand Pro Spectral Analysis below the media player.
2. Choose Start Live Analysis.
3. Choose Waveform for time-domain energy, Spectrum for frequency content, or Split to see both.
4. Choose Linear or Log-like detail for the frequency scale.
5. Play or loop the section you want to inspect. The display follows the same playback time as the media.
6. Move the cursor across the display to read the current time and cursor frequency.
7. Compare any visible transient, noise floor, or frequency pattern against the original recording and other channels or devices when available.

Important: Spectral analysis is a read-only playback measurement. A visible pattern is not a conclusion by itself.

1. Open Settings and choose the Review Mode and Transcription Audio you want. No Filter / Original Audio is the safest starting point.
2. Return to Review and choose Auto Transcribe.
3. Click any transcript line to jump playback to that time. Listen to the original recording before accepting the wording.
4. Correct the text, speaker, or notes on the selected line when needed, then keep or toss the line according to your review.
5. Use Search transcript to find words, speakers, notes, or sources. Choose Clear to return to the complete timeline.
6. If one line is timed incorrectly, play to the correct moment and choose Sync Line to Current Time. Use Align All to Current Time only when the whole generated timeline needs the same shift.
7. Open Transcription Run History to compare saved machine passes, including a reprocessed or filtered pass, without overwriting earlier work.
8. Choose Export Transcript when you need a separate transcript file.

Important: Transcription can be wrong, especially with quiet speech, distance, overlap, music, or noise. It is a review aid, not a finding.

1. Open Settings and choose Strict, Balanced, or Sensitive under Sound Recognition.
2. Choose the Sound Result Filter: high confidence only, medium plus high, or all confidence levels.
3. Run Auto Transcribe to create the combined time-linked review timeline.
4. Click a sound line to play that moment in the original recording.
5. Compare the label with what you actually hear and with nearby video or other devices.
6. Approve, correct, keep, or toss the candidate yourself. Add a note when context matters.
7. Save the project to add reviewer decisions to the local Sound Evaluation Library.
8. If useful, export a Phone Learning Profile from Settings for the ParaScope Investigator app.

Important: A sound label is a candidate generated for human review. It does not identify a cause and does not establish a paranormal conclusion.

1. Play to a moment worth closer review and choose Mark Hit, or mark a selected transcript or sound line.
2. Set the loop start and end to the exact clip boundaries. The default clip length is ten seconds until you set another range.
3. Open the Evidence tab and select the marked hit.
4. Listen to the original first. Choose No Filter / Original Audio when no cleanup is needed.
5. If cleanup helps listening, choose a Background Cleaner, Cleanup Strength, and Decibel Adjustment. Start lightly; aggressive filters can distort voices.
6. Preview the filtered version against the original. Save the filtered copy only if it helps review.
7. Choose Keep to retain the hit or Toss to remove it from review.
8. Choose Export All Hits to export kept clips and any separately saved filtered copies.

Important: Filtered files are reproducible working copies and never replace the original. Exported evidence remains paired with source information.

1. Open Summary.
2. Review or enter the case number, location, investigators, reviewer, investigation date and time, and conditions.
3. Use Import under Conditions when you want to look up weather for the entered city and state, then verify it before saving.
4. Add summary notes and choose Save Details.
5. Read the Report Preview and correct anything that is incomplete.
6. Choose Export Summary + Hits for the report and kept evidence clips.
7. Choose Export Full Package when you also need source media, transcript, hits, summary, and project data together.

Important: Use only information you are permitted to record and share. Review Lab organizes the record but does not determine the meaning of evidence.

1. Open Device Sync.
2. For one camera folder, enter a Camera track name and choose Add Camera Folder, or drag that folder into the folder drop area.
3. For a full investigation download, choose Add Investigation Folders and select either the investigation folder or its VIDEO folder.
4. Review Lab finds camera folders such as CAM6 and the dated MP4 segments stored under Video.
5. Leave Fallback segment minutes at the camera system's normal segment length. It is used only when Review Lab cannot read an individual file's actual duration.
6. For manually selected segmented files, enter the track name and choose Add Segmented Camera Track.
7. Use Review beside an attached track to open its original segment.

Important: Continuous recordings and segmented cameras are both supported. Segment length is camera-specific, not an investigation-wide rule.

1. In Case, save your name and Case role as Lead Investigator. Only the Lead establishes the master timeline.
2. Open the recording that will define investigation time, open Device Sync, and choose Set Current File as Master (Lead Only).
3. Choose Attach / Add Recordings for individual files, or use the camera-folder tools for segmented recordings.
4. Choose Find Candidate Matches. Review Lab compares audio activity in the opening thirty minutes, or near a time entered in Shared Event Locator.
5. Open a suggested comparison, align it at the shared sound, and use Play Together with Keep aligned while playing to verify the same real event in both originals.
6. After verification, choose Use as Anchor or enter Other device, Master time, Other device time, and an event note under Lead-Confirmed Anchor, then choose Confirm Anchor.
7. One anchor establishes the start-time offset. Confirm a second clear event later in the recordings to measure clock drift.
8. Enter a master time in Shared Event Locator, or choose Use Current Playback Time, then choose Locate Across Devices to see the corresponding time on every aligned device.
9. Add a Cross-Device Review Marker for an event worth checking. Anyone may propose one; the Lead marks it corroborated or not corroborated after reviewing originals.
10. Save the project and choose Export Sync Report when the alignment needs to be shared or documented.

Important: Alignment is stored as review metadata. Review Lab never changes device timestamps or original recordings, and candidate matches are not findings.

1. The Lead Investigator creates and saves the investigation details, then opens Case.
2. Under Offline Case Collaboration, enter the organization, team, Lead name, role, and workflow. Choose Save Collaboration Details.
3. Save the review and choose Export Offline Sync Snapshot.
4. Give the metadata snapshot to reviewers through your normal approved file-sharing method. Send the actual assigned media separately; the snapshot does not contain recordings.
5. Each reviewer chooses Case, then Import Case Snapshot. Review Lab opens the shared-case folder automatically when available.
6. The reviewer enters their own name, chooses Reviewer, and saves the collaboration details.
7. Under Review Assignments, a reviewer may claim an unassigned recording for themselves. Only the Lead may reassign another reviewer or change someone else's assignment.
8. The reviewer opens their assigned media, completes the review, saves it, and exports a new snapshot for the Lead.
9. The Lead imports returned snapshots. New session metadata is added; differences are held under Conflicts for human resolution and are never overwritten automatically.
10. Use Offline Investigation Sessions, Review Coverage, Case-Wide Search, and Case Activity to see progress across the investigation.

Important: Current shared-case exchange is offline and metadata-only. Hosted ParaScope Team collaboration and pooled storage are separate future services.

1. Use Case for the working offline collaboration tools: roles, snapshots, sessions, coverage, assignments, conflicts, and activity.
2. Use Storage & Usage in Case to measure local case records and exports. Original media remains in the location you chose.
3. The top Team area is a local preview of future hosted workflows. It does not create an account, contact a Team server, send an alert, or upload evidence.
4. Do not enter real private information into invented Team preview drills.
5. Continue using offline snapshots until ParaScope announces that hosted Team collaboration and pooled storage are publicly available.

Important: Review Lab is the local desktop product. ParaScope Team and additional hosted storage will be separate services when released.

1. Choose Database at the top of Review Lab.
2. Under Search & Trends, choose Update Local Database to index standard, unprotected projects from Recent Projects.
3. Search by case number, note, transcript phrase, or evidence label.
4. Open a result to return to its saved review record.
5. Use Local Trends only as descriptive counts. Details remain privacy-locked until at least ten different investigations support them.
6. Open Manage Database to add or update selected saved projects or review selected removal.
7. Removing a database entry removes only the searchable index. It does not delete the project, media, export, or Recent Projects shortcut.
8. Choose Clear Local Database only when you intend to remove all locally indexed text and metadata from this computer.

Important: The local database stores searchable text and counts, not original audio or video. Protected and unsaved reviews are not indexed.

1. Save the standard project first, then open Summary and expand Evidence Safety.
2. Choose Save Protected Copy and create a strong passphrase.
3. Save the separate recovery code somewhere secure and away from the protected project.
4. After a protected project is open and unlocked, choose Protect Current Media Copy to create an encrypted evidence container.
5. To restore it, open the matching protected project, choose Restore Protected Evidence, authenticate, and select a new destination.
6. For guided recovery, choose Database, then Recovery. Select Open or Recover Protected Project or Recover Protected Evidence.
7. Read the preview before confirming. Recovery creates a new file and never overwrites the existing source.
8. Use Refresh Working-Copy Status and Retention & Deletion to inspect temporary working files or crash leftovers before removing anything.

Important: ParaScope cannot recover a protected project if both its passphrase and recovery code are lost. Original media, saved exports, and recovery-code files are never automatically deleted.

1. Open Settings.
2. Choose Deep Evidence Review for the highest-quality serious pass, Standard Review for a balanced pass, or Quick Scan for a long rough pass.
3. Under Transcription Audio, choose No Filter / Original Audio unless a cleanup copy is needed for listening or reprocessing.
4. If a cleanup filter is selected, begin with Light. Medium and Strong can remove detail or distort voices.
5. Choose the Sound Recognition sensitivity and Sound Result Filter that fit the review. Use All confidence levels mainly when collecting evaluation feedback.
6. Leave Strict Drift Filtering on when repeated or suspicious transcript sections should be flagged for manual review.
7. Open Advanced Setup only to repair or manually choose Whisper, its model, FFmpeg, or YAMNet. Choose Check Setup after making a change.

Important: All transcription and sound analysis is designed to run locally. A cleaner changes the analysis copy, not the original evidence.

1. Choose Help at the top of Review Lab for the quick guide and installed version.
2. Choose Replay Tutorial for the guided first review.
3. Choose Load Demo Review in the tutorial when you want to practice without using investigation evidence.

5. Include your Windows version, installed Review Lab version, the exact on-screen message, and what you were trying to do.
6. For license trouble, include only the short license prefix shown in Review Lab. Never email the complete license key.

Important: ParaScope Support can explain the software, but it cannot interpret recordings or decide what an event means.
